Community living camp- Report
Community living camps help the students in understanding the core of rural life, their problems and needs, and help them in preparing a plan for social work practice and community development. Camp provide students with a community of caring adults ,who nurture experiential education that results in self respect and appreciation for human values. The outcome brings self identity, self worth, self esteem, leader ship and self respect.
As part of our b Ed Curriculum, a five day camp was organized in our college,HKM College of Education from 25 th February to March 1 st 2021. The camp name was’ Pragna’ and the slogan was knowledge comes from learning and wisdom comes from living . The main aim of our camp is to develop cooperative, social and personal skills. The camp was strictly carried out under covid protocol. Due to the pandemic condition, the college was not allowed students to stay there and arranged some inspirational classes of the famous resource persons. There were 3 offline and 2 online programs were organized. The 5 th day if our camp we carried out cultural programme, campus beautification and conscientisation program named ‘Unarv’.
Planning of the camp :
For the successful completion of the camp, our principal Dr.Sajeena Miss divided the entire students into 7 committee and appointed a monitor and a leader in each committee. Program committee, finance committee, refreshment committee, reporting committee, decoration committee, organizing committee were the different committees.
I was included in the programme committee. I was the leader of the committee .The committee includes 8 members excluding the monitor.

25/2/2021(Thursday)
After the prayer Mrs.Mini mole S welcomed all of us to the inaugural program.Our beloved Principal. Sajeena miss carried out the presidential address. Our camp was inaugurated by Our Chairman Janab Abdul Karim. After the inaugural ceremony we had a class about the lifeskills for successful teacher and the class was delivered by Dr.Roshna gopal. The class was very informative and she engaged us in a college making competition.
Afternoon there was a class about how can a teacher touch the soul of his or her student. The content delivered by Dr. Kamaluddin TK.His class was also good,he expressed his idea in a simple way. We enjoy and understood the concept clearly. He also shows a short film about a teacher and a student.

In the second day of Pragna’,we had attended two classess.The classes were started after the prayer. Sajeena miss introduced the resource person,Dr.Shajian Raj sir. He taught how to develop positive thinking and suggested the ways for avoiding negative thoughts The class was very interesting and we learned about laughing exercise also. The second class was carried out by Satheesh sir. He gave details about art-culture-Covid. His class was really interesting and freely sat until the end. We practised folk songs and enjoy it .

In the third day, we had online classes. The classes were took place through Google meet. In the morning session,Mrs. Hanza Beegam mam, motivational speaker taught about mind Power. She gave instructions to boost our mind Power by adopting various ways like exercise, meditation,self love ,etc. At 2 pm, Dr. Sameer Babu sir took the class about effective communication, as one of the life score skill and gave insight in modifying changes in our communication. The class was ended at 4 pm.

In the fourth day of PRAGNA’ ,the classes were online. In the first session,Mrs. Nisha Mohammad, assistant professor in our college ,take the class about type of leadership,the quality and duty of a leader and how a leader should be and should not be. It was a very informative class. Mr. Shabu sir taught some aspects about stress management. It was able to know how to reduce stress and how to be mindfulness.

In the last day of PRAGNA’, various cultural programme, Campus beautification and Conscientisation program were carried out. The programme were properly coordinated by the programme committee members. Songs,Music,dances games…were made the programme delightful. After the delicious meal, we organized a conscientisation program ’Unarv’ about the ’Mask wearing’ and distribute masks to the neighborhood. After this we planted so many saplings around our college campus as part of campus beautification. Then we were directed to the auditorium and some of us made reflection about the five day camp activities and share their experiences.
Conclusion
The five day camp was actually a teaching learning process. It provides a bridge between education and social skill. It helps to develop social skills like communication, participation, character building, etc. I got so many experiences from this camp. The Camp was carried out by strictly following the covid protocol. I could perfectly done all the assigned duties.
